Joe Farago will review the results of the 2020 IMC report Analysis of Private Drug Claim Cost Drivers, which examined private drug plan utilization for the periods 2016-2019. His presentation will focus on the impact and treatment costs of chronic disease, and address the opportunity for change.
Sleep Deprivation and Fatigue
Dr. Jeffrey Habert, MD, CCFP, FCFP, Assistant Professor, Department of Family and Community Medicine, University of Toronto
The emotional, physical and workplace impact of sleep deprivation and fatigue is significant, but as a society we are often in denial about the very real negative impact. Dr. Habert will share insights into the impact of sleep deprivation and chronic fatigue and the role they play in chronic disease.
Virtual Chronic Disease Management

Michelle Stewart is a patient advocate for pharmacy and the important role pharmacy can play in helping patients manage their disease. As virtual care expands into more areas of healthcare, Michelle will provide insights into how individuals with a chronic disease can benefit from virtual care management.
Accessing Healthcare Practitioners
Tim Williams, Director of National Accounts and Dr. Tim Foggin, Canadian Medical Director, Teladoc Health
Accessing a physician in a timely manner can be challenging. Virtual care services are providing new solutions for access to family health practitioners, and can provide alternative solutions for access to specialists and second opinion services in and outside of Canada. Tim Williams and Dr. Tim Foggin will speak to the expansion of virtual care services in the Canadian market.
